Samsung GT-P5200 benchmark shows Intel Clover Trail+ processor

Samsung

Samsung already announced the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 last month and it seems that the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 and Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 will be coming soon as well. The Samsung GT-P5200 was today spotted on the GLBenchmark benchmark website and considering that the GT-P5100 was the second-generation Galaxy Tab from 2012, we are pretty sure that this is its successor.

This new device features a 1.6Ghz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 Clover Trail+ with an PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU, which makes it the first Android device from Samsung with an x86 processor. We also know that the Samsung GT-P5200 is equipped with a 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 display and running on Android 4.2.2 with Samsungs own TouchWiz interface.

Judging by the results of the benchmark we can definitely see a massive improvement in comparison with the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (GT-P5100) that was released last year, although this is likely to be caused by the much faster PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU, which can also be found in the Galaxy S4.

Samsung will be coming with three different models; one with Wi-Fi only (GT-P5210), Wi-Fi + 3G (GT-P5200) and Wi-Fi + LTE (GT-P5220). We also expect that this won’t be the only Intel-based device coming from Samsung, because we also received information that the manufacturer is working on a hybrid PC/laptop with the Intel Bay Trail architecture.
